I came to the Foodbank as I had no choice. I felt shame. But my rent and bills came first. Then I didn’t have enough to eat. I say again, I felt shame and embarrassment approaching. But from the first moment I was treated with respect. It’s the little things like the volunteers remembering your name and joking with you. I never felt less than. I now have a full time job so am leaving. I was anxious about that. But even that transition was treated with respect. Is being treated with respect. I can’t thank the Foodbank for being there for me enough. I literally can’t.

Hungry no more has helped myself and my children to survive food poverty during my divorce and leaving my husband due to domestic abuse. Without the assistance of this charity, we would have faced undue hardships in choosing between heating and feeding my family. I would not have been able to pay essential bills and would not have managed without their help and support. I would not have been able to provide my children with clothing, birthday and Christmas presents or Easter eggs. I really appreciate everything that Hungry No More have done for my family.

Thank you so much for everything you have all done for me. It’s allowed me to be able to focus on improving my circumstances and overcome a very difficult time in my life. I really appreciate everything and will never forget your help, kindness and support throughout. You are all doing a fantastic job in helping the community. As soon as I can I will be giving back and popping food into those Hungry no more boxes in our local stores. 🥰
